Time
by Design began as "By Design", founded by Charles Coster who invented
and marketed unique clocks. In 1993, he and his wife, Mary Pond, began
selling a unique line of wrist watches, each a new way to tell time. In
1998, they began a collaboration with Studio-etc. owned by Tom Powers
and Jim Singelis to turn unique time concepts into computer clocks.
Time by Design combines art with time telling to amuse and to increase
appreciation for the meaning of time. Inventing new images may as
Marcel Proust said give us an opportunity to get outside ourselves and
know another view of the universe.
